How to Protect Your Migraine Alert Card with Our Clear Overlay Stickers
At Achy Smile Shop, we know how important it is to keep your medical alert cards in tip-top shape, especially when they carry life-saving information. That’s why we include clear adhesive overlays to help protect your card from everyday wear and tear.
These overlays act like a mini armor shield. They’re slightly smaller than the card itself, making it easy to apply without fuss or bubbles. Here’s how to do it right:
📝 Step 1: Add Your Info
Before applying the overlay, make sure your card has the information you need. If you purchased a generic or custom card, you can still personalize it! Use a pencil, pen, or permanent marker to write:
- Emergency contacts
- Medications
- Allergies
- Any other critical details
🧼 Step 2: Prep the Surface
Wipe your card gently with a dry tissue to remove dust or particles.
Important: Don’t use water, moisture can affect the adhesive or damage the card.
🎯 Step 3: Apply the Overlay
This is where the magic happens.
- Peel the clear adhesive overlay from the backing.
- Align it carefully at the top edge of the card.
- Using a credit card or similar tool, slowly press the overlay down across the surface, working from top to bottom.
- Smooth out any air bubbles as you go.
Repeat on the back side with the second overlay if provided.
🛑 Note: The overlay is not removable once applied. If you misalign it, don’t peel it off, continue smoothing it down instead.
🔪 Step 4: Trim the Edges (Optional)
If the overlay has extra material hanging over the card edge, wait until it’s fully adhered. Then, carefully trim it with a craft knife for a clean, finished look.
